Lahontan Cutthroat Trout Triple Fish Replica Wall Mount

Triple Pyramid Lake Lahontan Cutthroat Trout fish replica wall mount display by Luke Filmer of Blackwater Fish Replicas

The Lahontan cutthroat is the largest growing trout native to North America.  These fish are indigenous to the tributaries of what was once Lake Lahontan, a huge ice-age lake, of which Pyramid Lake and Lake Tahoe are remnants. Jon W with Pyramid Lake Lahontan Cutthroat_2018

After Jon W. caught this beauty (one of many Lahontan cutthroat he has caught in Pyramid Lake), he had a concept of a wall mount display that featured 2-3 cutthroat replicas painted to represent fish he caught in this famous fishing lake. He knew the only guy that had the experience and “artistic-eye” to create a fish art wall display that he would be proud to feature in his home was Luke Filmer of Blackwater Fish Replicas.

  1. My wife had a great day at Pyramid lake a few weeks ago. I’d like to have a basic replica of her fish for the wall at our cabin. I have a brookie now that I caught 30+ yeas ago and I think the cutthroat would look great, It doesn’t need to fancy just the fish really. It will be mounted on knotty pine paneling. How much just for the replica, no plaque or mount. thanks

    • Hi Phillip – Thanks for writing to us about your wife’s cutthroat. We appreciate you taking the time to read the blog. Have you seen our website? Lots of trout photos there too. http://www.lukefilmer. com. I emailed you directly – but perhaps it did not get into your inbox? I’m now replying through the blog post.

Do you have a photo of her fish or approximate size? No problem if you don’t, but if you do – send it to That will help with an accurate quote. Sounds like you just want a steel hanger, which would feature the fish nicely on the knotty pine.

Looking forward to working with you. -Carola Filmer
